Student Services is also there to create the sense of community that is so important to any institution of higher learning. Three times each year, the campus holds Student Appreciation Days. On Student Appreciation Day, we treat you to refreshments, entertainment, and the sight of your favorite staff and faculty dressed up in the day’s adventurous, and sometimes hilarious, theme. Students in our nursing programs also get to enjoy the annual celebration of National Nurses Week. It is a perfect occasion to engage in campus activities while honoring one of the world’s most trusted professions.
Student Services also provides the opportunity to become involved in campus associations—a great way to both develop leadership skills and add community service to your resume. Whether it is the Student Council or the National Student Nurses Association (NSNA), there is an opportunity for you to engage with your fellow students. Your campus NSNA chapter elects officers, sends delegates to the national convention, and serves as a liaison for campus activities.
Commuting is always a concern for adult students, and Student Services provides you with a number of different options for getting to campus. Depending on where you are studying, there may be on-campus parking, carpool groups, Metro (local bus, subway, light rail) student passes, or MetroLink (distant trains) college discount programs.
